Abstract
This publication is a collection of state-of-the-art scientific findings on the dynamics of soil organic matter in the Oxisol savannahs (Cerrados) of central Brazil. These savannahs represent the second largest biome in South America and one of the most rapidly expanding agricultural frontiers. These projects have produced several potential indicators of soil health for the major Oxisol types in the Brazilian Cerrados.
