This presentation talks about progress of experiments conducted in the Philippines on tree-vegetable interactions. The overall hypothesis of TMPEGS is that, 'In intensive vegetable production systems in the uplands, monoculture systems are not sustainable, but integrating trees is feasible and offers better prospects.' The research goal of the vegetable agroforestry system (VAF) is that tree-vegetable integration on farms with minimal negative interaction thus increases productivity, economic profitability, nutrient use efficiency and environmental services. There were two specific research topics: VAF tree-soil crop interaction and domestication of indigenous tree vegetables. This presentation goes on to discuss the objectives of the project more thoroughly, as well as the deliverable aspects of the project, with the activities conducted so far. Finally it lists the summary of initial findings.en
