Spend more, stay longer: The consumer trends driving travel in 2021

As domestic travel begins to re-bound, the American Express Travel: Global Travel Trends Report has noted several trends that travelers will be participating in throughout 2021 and beyond. Many travelers are willing to pay a higher dollar if it means they will be in a private space, stay at a luxury property, and have an elevated meal experience. Across the board, cleanliness of a location will remain at the top of every travelers check-box. Additionally, the sustainability efforts, initiatives surrounding diversity and inclusion, and the benefits of travel to the local economy will also play a large role in travelers desire to visit a specific destination.
