Are trust and social capital the keys to success? Watershed partnerships in California and Washington

This chapter examines long term relations and agreements involving watershed partnerships in Washington state and California. The research is particularly interested in how trust and social capital may be measured and how they play a role in the formation of sustained partnerships and ecological restoration. Through the study of 76 watershed partnerships, the variables of extent of agreement, implementation of projects, and stakeholder satisfaction are used to study this relationship between trust and watershed management.
