Abstract

Covid-19 has made it common that customers want to cut back on face-to-face interactions with hotel staff, reducing the possibility of catching the virus. This contactless check-in process has made it easier for those involved in human trafficking to bypass hotel staff making it more difficult to spot possible human trafficking indicators and suspicious behavior. Some independent hotels have gone as far as advising guests that there will not be anyone available to check them in or out of the property and they offer QR codes for that purpose.
