Dr. Chao Wang received the prestigious Office of Naval Research (ONR) Young Investigator Program (YIP) award in May 2013. The title of his proposal is “Automated Software Model Generation for Identifying and Mitigating Concurrency Vulnerabilities.” The YIP award seeks to identify and support faculty members who are early in their careers and who show exceptional promise for doing creative research. The award is extremely competitive -- ONR made only 16 awards in 2013. The three-year $510,000 grant will support Dr. Wang develop new methods and software tools for improving the reliability and security of concurrent software running on multicore computers.en
