dc.description.abstractAlthough there have been many call to actions across the hospitality industry to hire a more diverse workforce throughout 2021, the industry has not kept their promise to increase diversity across all sectors. Studies are finding that the hospitality industry let a higher amount of its Black workforce go due to pandemic economic restrictions. Additionally noting that everyone one in 49 vice presidents and one in every 58 EVP/SVPs are Black. If the hospitality industry would like to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic quicker, it will need to diversify. A McKinsey & Company reported that "diverse companies outperform industry peers over time, and penalties are getting steeper for those lacking diversity."en
