Smith Travel Research collaborated with Hotel Appraisers & Advisors evaluated 7,530 hotels in the United States during multiple economic cycles from 2008 to 2019. This research shows that about one in 10 hotels in the United States never rebounded to the ADR levels they reached in 2008. This means that it can be expected some hotels never can overcome the difficulty in this coming economic recession in 2020. Data shows that these failures can happen in the all-region in the nationwide, and suburban locations are more risker than other locations like resorts, airport, and Urban area, etc.en
