Abstract
Integrated conservation and development projects (ICDPs) represent a new approach to the conservation of biodiversity and ecological systems in developing countries. The key characteristic of ICDPs is equal focus on biological conservation and human development and linking these objectives so that each fosters the other. The research suggests some benefits of ICDP approach within limits. The article reviews ICDP approach and discusses ICDP case studies from Africa.
