Travelers are gearing up for a busy and packed itinerary for the summer of 2021. Gas prices have hit the highest amount since 2014 and flights are filling up. Southwest Airlines reported that they are edging closer to 2019 rates for leisure destinations. Domestic U.S. flight travel is up 9% since April, with no signs of slowing down. Airlines are also not flying as many routes, adding to the demand and ability to increase prices. Hotel room rates continue to rise week over week, although remain much lower than they were in 2019.en
