Abstract
The Florida Ice and Farm Co., a bottled drink producing company, has agreed to pay $45 ha/year for the environmental services of natural and planted forests. In addition, the Public Services of Heredia is making payments to protect the upper watershed of the Segundo River thought forest protection, natural regeneration and reforestation. These two programs overlap in geographic extent and are currently allowing beneficiaries to receive $67/ha/year, which is more than the Environmental Services national market. The alliance between these two companies is making is possible to protect the water resources for domestic and industrial uses.
