Abstract

Rice-wheat systems are the staple food crops of South Asia. However, evidence has shown that the continuous rice-wheat systems are exhausting the natural resource base. This article aims to explore technologies that are more cost effective for farmers and enhance sustainability. Conservation agriculture is one of those technologies that can reduce production costs, increase profitability and more efficiently use natural resources.
