dc.description.abstractThe PVO-NGO/NRMS project has collaborated with NGO, government and donor colleagues - from eight developing and five developed countries - over the past two years in conceptualizing and formulating an innovative initiative that addresses key issues in the successful combating of desertification at different levels of scale. The initiative - the International Coalition for Action-Research in combating Desertification (ICARD) - seeks consistency with the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (CCD) through a strong commitment to bottom-up approaches to combating desertification.en
