The dynamically reconfigurable hierarchical network offers decided advantages in reliability and survivability. The concept is evaluated strictly in terms of message transmission delays for demand scenarios that vary widely. A SIMULA 67 model provides the experimental basis for obtaining preliminary results that show the reductions in transmission delays to be significant and to increase with the size of the network.en
