Building a More Diverse Tourism Industry Through Apprenticeships

PCMA sat down with Tourism Diversity Matters Apprenticeship Coordinator, Deedra Mills-Hall, to get a better understanding of their apprenticeship program. Tourism Diversity Matters provide students the hands on opportunities to work with DMOs and offers them an immediate job at the conclusion of their role. Mills-Hall also emphasized the importance of mentorship for the mentee and the mentor to push each other to their career goals. Tourism Diversity Matters was launched in February of 2021 to enhance diversity throughout the travel and events industry.
