After competitive review, the South Atlantic Humanities Center at Virginia Tech awarded $10,000 on May 5, 2006, for two outstanding proposals:
Jamestown in an Atlantic World: A Digital Book Proposal by Dr. Crandall Shifflett, Department of History
Migrating Cultures: The History and Geography of Experience and Expression in the Southeastern U.S. and Caribbean: Developing HUM 3024, by Dr. Emily Satterwhite, Department of Interdisciplinary Studies
