dc.description.abstract | Japan has named Seiko Hashimoto the head of the Tokyo 2021 Olympic Planning Committee after the previous head of the Planning Committee came under fire for his previous beliefs around gender equality. Hashimoto has hit the ground running by encouraging sponsorship companies, sport bodies, and educational institutions in setting and creatin goals towards gender equality across Japan. In addition to adding Hashimoto as the new head of the Planning Committee, Japan added 12 new female members to the 45 person Planning Committee Roster. | en |
