dc.description.abstractThis report summarizes the highlights of a national survey of college and university faculty conducted by the Cooperative Institutional Research Program (CIRP) at the Higher Education Research Institute (HERI) during the 2016–2017 academic year. Although HERI has been surveying higher education faculty since 1978, this report is the tenth in a series of faculty surveys administered on a triennial basis since 1989. Over the past three decades, the HERI Faculty Survey has collected data from over half a million faculty at more than 1,100 colleges and universities.en
