dc.description.abstractThis paper presents the results of an ongoing experimental investigation of the effects of tip injection, as well as V-shaped Mie Vanes on the performance of a model wind turbine rotor. Experiments are conducted by placing a three-bladed horizontal axis wind turbine rotor at the exit of an open-jet wind tunnel facility. It is observed that tip injection has significant effects on the power and thrust coefficient variations especially at higher TSR values beyond max CP TSR. Results of the effects of tip injection as well as Mie vanes on the power and thrust coefficient variations with Tip Speed Ratio (TSR) for several wind speeds and comparisons with baseline data will be presented in the final paper.en
