dc.description.abstractA method for reducing wear of ceramic cutting components during machining operations in which surface material is removed from a workpiece with reduced friction and with improved surface finish imparted to the reshaped workpiece. The method uses of cutting fluid compositions containing monomers capable of forming polymers in situ when subjected to tribological conditions (such as high temperature, pressure, and friction) existing at the contact area developed between the ceramic tool and surface of the workpiece during machining.en
