Abstract

This pamphlet describes the Africa-based service bureau, AGCommons (Agricultural Geospatial Commons), and the geospatial information technology services it provides. In sub-Saharan Africa the unpredictability of nature takes a huge toll on the agricultural sector. To promote successful farms in sub-Saharan Africa, this group offers location-specific information concerning pest control, market access, crop productivity and more. Using GPS, statistical data, maps, automation, and database storage systems, AGCommons continues to reach out and help farmers and other stakeholders improve crop management.
