Abstract

This article offers an extensive literature review and discusses testing of conservation agriculture techniques for corn and soybeans in the southern, central, western, and northern United States and Canada. The research finds that conservation tillage promotes higher yields in the south and west, but can have lower returns in the central and northern United States and in Canada. Based on these findings, the authors argue that further research should focus on finding better methods for regionalized conservation agriculture production.
