Abstract

Allelopathy involves a plant's secretion of biochemical materials into the environment to inhibit germination or growth of surrounding vegetation. Juglone is one of many plant-produced chemicals that can harm other plants in a process known as allelopathy. This publication covers the black walnut tree and methods and practices to reduce allelopathic effects.
