Abstract

This article reviews the situation in post-conflict Liberia, especially the role of international organizations in shaping conservation policy. It is argued that while the postconflict situation has been viewed as an opportunity to conserve vast tracts of forestland, doing so without the consideration of historic land tenure rights and the generation of a common tenure policy will actually hinder recovery efforts
