Using the Advocacy Coalition Framework, chapter 19 examines a number of natural resource management issues in Ecuador. Through analysis that focuses on policy then impact, the research traces the formation of social groups to advocate and negotiate for change at a local and then national level. Within this context, the research discusses the governance of a nature reserve and the process for dealing with a controversy over mining in the area.en
