Abstract
This report contains the results of the survey of households in Lantapan, Bukidnon, Philippines that captured the production and other household data for the first half of 1998.The focus of this paper is to learn more about the impact of the drought on the upland farmers' land use and other production decisions. The sources of alternate incomes and the coping mechanisms employed by the households in the light of the El Niño are also investigated. Such knowledge could guide policy and technology intervention in future unfavorable weather spells.
