dc.description.abstractThe potential of Geographic Information Systems as depositories of urban Transportation data is growing rapidly. The Transit service area delineation problem requires a detailed analysis of the demographics and other factors effecting the modal split. This project demonstrates an effective and efficient method to determine Transit demand using Geographic Information Systems. A case study was performed using a show case demand model on one of the transit routes in Blacksburg, VA. A friendly graphical user interface was developed for analysis and reporting.en
