Thirty years ago soybean production in Brazil was insignificant. However, a soybean network began emerging due to actors including soybean varieties produced in the US, wheat farmers located in southern Brazil, and soil in need of nitrogen for growing. Other actors included farmers' organizations, institutions, other persons, and technology. The history of soybeans in Brazil can be understood through analysis of the actor network theory.en
