This issue of Dairy Pipeline has two articles. The first article discusses various winter plants used for silage production. Use of legumes improves the nutritional quality of the silage, especially mixed with barley, rye and triticale. The second article continues an examination of biosecurity on the dairy farm, this time focusing on potential for disease outbreaks in dairy cattle, and ways to help prevent and watch for disease.
