Tourism Diversity Matters provide students the hands on opportunities to work with DMOs and offers them an immediate job at the conclusion of their role. Mills-Hall also emphasized the importance of mentorship for the mentee and the mentor to push each other to their career goals. Tourism Diversity Matters was launched in February of 2021 to enhance diversity throughout the travel and events industry.

(PCMA, 2021-04-21)The Global Destination Sustainability Movement (GDSN), which was founded in the midst of COVID-19, has detailed sustainability as being the major focus of hotels and events as both industries aim at building back better post-pandemic. Guy Bigwood, GDSM's Chief Changemaker, detailed that the effort around sustainability and events will not just be highlighted within the environmental impact, but diversity and inclusion, transparency, governance, and bundling "green" into it's vision. In 2021 and beyond, planners will look to throw out what was previously noted as checking a box to display to attendees that sustainability mattered to the event. Planners will weave sustainability efforts into all aspects of their event in 2021 and beyond.

Tourism Diversity Matters launched in February of 2021 and has been in the process of establishing their Apprenticeship partner young people with seasoned professionals who can guide them throughout the events and tourism industries. Additionally, Tourism Diversity Matters is in the process of streamlining a resource portal for local grassroots efforts across companies and organizations to enhance diversity.

The result showed that we need to wait to resume the full service until the second half-year of 2021. Moreover, many meeting planners now focus on event technology by putting more budget to increase its use.
