Christina Dorninger – From the University of Vienna, researching on Helene Koller-Buchwieser and her residential buildings.

Tomer, Assistant Professor in the College of Architecture + Design, discusses her brief exploration of the IAWA. She is intrigued by what kinds of questions and new knowledge a gendered archive of architecture has the potential to uncover. She will be discussing the material she encountered in the IAWA, and how the material helped her think about the relationship between architecture and gender. Joseph Bedford, Assistant Professor in the College of Architecture + Design, offers observations on the role of gender in the life and work of the California architect Zelma Wilson as seen through oral history records and the early architectural drawings of projects from the 1960s and 1970s held in the International Archive of Women in Architecture.
