- Innovation Campus Fact Sheet(Virginia Tech, 2019-06-10)This fact sheet provides information and future plans for the proposed Innovation Campus.
- Working Group Report on the Interface between Virginia Tech Counseling Services, Academic Affairs, Judicial Affairs and Legal Systems(Virginia Tech, 2017-08-17)In response to the tragic events of April 16, 2007, Virginia Tech President Charles Steger requested an internal review conducted by a working group to examine the interface between the university’s student counseling services, academic affairs, judicial affairs and the legal system. The Working Group was charged with examining “...the existing systems and the interface between them; determining what constraints legal and otherwise hamper effective interaction among these areas.” The Group consisted of 17 key personnel from the units in the overall system and focused its attention on examining Virginia Tech’s capacity and efficacy in identifying, responding to and supporting at-risk students. The Group conducted its work through five methods: (1) full committee discussions (2) one-on-one interviews between the Chair of the Working Group and individual personnel (3) participation in a symposium with six national experts (4) analysis and review of relevant educational policies and proceduresat Virginia Tech and other educational institutions, and (5) analysis and review of relevant state and federal documents.
- Security Infrastructure Working Group Report(Virginia Tech, 2017-08-17)In response to the tragic events on the Virginia Tech campus on Monday, April 16, 2007, the President established the Security Infrastructure Working Group. The group was charged with examining the university’s existing security systems and recommending changes that would enhance the university’s ability to respond quickly and effectively in situations where the safety of the campus community is jeopardized. The group was also directed to identify strategies that might decrease the probability of such situations occurring. The group was asked to not only consider technological aspects of the issue, but also the behavior of individuals with regard to campus security.
- Information and Communications Infrastructure(Virginia Tech, 2017-08-17)The events of April 16, 2007 and the response, investigation, and recovery at Virginia Tech that followed placed extraordinary demands on telecommunications network resources and university Information Technology professionals. This report provides a comprehensive inventory and analysis of the communications infrastructure and information systems used during this time period. It addresses resources depended upon by emergency responders, investigating law enforcement officers, university officials, media, faculty, staff, students, and families of the university community. It includes information about communications resources owned and operated by the University and relevant resources owned and operated by providers and responders.
