Abstract
UNITE Here and AHLA have historically partnered together to back the Save Hotels Job Act being sponsored by Representative Crist of Florida (D) and Senator Schatz of Hawaii (D). The bill is aiming to enable direct payroll grants to be used for payroll and benefit expenses from workers. Additionally, the bill will hope to provide Personal Protective Equipment Tax Credit to promote a safer work environment for employees. Ideally, the bill would give payroll tax credit for 50% of the money used to purchase personal protective equipment.
