Abstract

Clinchco, Virginia is a small community of about 350 people located in the northern portion of Dickenson County in the valley of the McClure River and near the West Virginia line. It is accessed by Routes 63 and 83, which pass through the town.

Clinchco is striving to move forward, “reconstructing itself” for a better future. As one of the first steps in this process, a town-wide master plan and a downtown master plan was needed. The town wants to position itself to be economically sustainable that is supported by a diverse collection of businesses and industries.
