Enric Ruiz-Geli designed the Stgilat Aiguablava villa in the Catalan Empordá area, using next generation materials to create light and sustainable structures, turning his particular vision of a mediterranean estate into a "Case Study". Being born in the area, the architect uses his firsthand knowledge of Mediterranean culture to reinterpret the local traditional vault system, the Catalan Volta, using cutting edge technology to adapt it to current insulation and comfort standards.

Drawing inspiration from international architects such as Richard Neutra and Charles and Ray Eames, as well as local ones like Pep Llinàs and his teacher Esteve Bonell, the project provides sustainable, innovative and digitally manufactured architecture that adds value to the territory, and embodies the Mediterranean culture and way of life.

The project includes an ephemeral and experimental pavilion, dedicated to innovation, designed in collaboration with the prestigious Art Center College of Design Pasadena.
