Abstract
Without a rapid and consistent re-shifting of the methods used to teach curriculum and research to Latina/o students in higher education institutions, the limited improvement in the number of Latina/o graduates realized over the last three decades will not change significantly. It is clear that the current methods and pedagogy are not effectively supporting Latina/o students through to college graduation and beyond to graduate studies. The authors call for meaningful changes in the academic perspective used to address Latina/o educational issues, specifically by using a psychosociocultural (PSC) framework that includes the individual, environment, and culture.
