Abstract

This presentation summarizes our work with connectivity of agricultural landscapes. This particular study focuses upon the potential for the spread of disease and pests of the most widely cultivated species. Maize and soybean were found to be the most connected spatially and therefore more at risk for disease transmission. Increasing agricultural heterogeneity appeared to be an appropriate way to mitigate risk and prevent the spread of disease and disease vectors.
