Statistical methods for estimating the parameters of a Weibull distribution are developed under the assumption that the available data set is obtained from field performance and is consequently censored on both the left and the right. The extreme lack of data makes estimation very difficult. Estimation equations are defined for both maximum-likelihood and moment based estimates. Simulation results obtained using the defined estimation strategies are not promising but do suggest directions for further study.en
