dc.description.abstract | Florida Hotel & Lodging Association's Carol Dover is calling the increased labor shortage around hotel employees a "new pandemic" admits the current COVID-19 pandemic. Dover states that hotels are competing against wealthier industries and the U.S. Government for employees as unemployment checks continue to tack on $300 in state money every week. Although many states have agreed to suspend the extra $300 COVID relief, the issue remains a massive problem. Many hotels have been forced to turn away business as they do not have the capacity to handle large numbers of guests. | en |
