Abstract
Erick Krigsvold, the Pamunkey Artist whose work was displayed in this exhibition, described it as follows: "When John Smith found the people of the Powhatan Nation on the shores of what is now the The James river, he found a thriving complex society living in Tsenacommacah. The people of those tribes (and other Native nations) still live there. We make art and laugh with our friends. We are still here, thriving."
