dc.description.abstract | The American Hotel & Lodging Associated released new data noting the projected hardest hit states economically by the COVID-19 pandemic are California, Florida, Nevada, New York, and Hawaii. These five states heavily depend on business and group travel to generate revenue and favorable financial positions each year. The article details a study done by Oxford Economics highlights that for every 10 people directly employed by a hotel, there are 26 remaining jobs that are sustained because of the hotel business. Unfortunately, the hotel industry will not be on the true road to recovery until business and group travel re-emerge. | en |
