Abstract
Access to the wealth of published scholarly research -- even research about one's own country -- is challenging for most low- and middle-income countries. As a service to librarians serving international populations, english-speaking and non-english speaking languages this guide brings together all of the known, freely-available to all sources for journal articles, data, citations and abstracts, courseware, and specific programs developed for low- and middle-income countries, including document delivery services and other programs.
This 7-page guide was developed in 2006 by a librarian affiliated with the IMF-World Bank Library Network in celebration of the April 6, 2006 International Special Librarians Day. International Special Librarians Day was hosted by the International Relations Committee of the Washington DC Chapter of the Special Libraries Association (DC/SLA), of which the librarian is co-chair.
