Abstract
The presidential inauguration of Joe Biden brought life to the struggling D.C. hotel market. Smith Travel Research reports that although the occupancy levels and average daily rate numbers were record low for an inguration, it bought the D.C. hotel market to the top of the nation's statistics. Previously, D.C.'s market had been the second lowest nationally and now is among the best in the country. However, researchers do no anticipate this containing as hotels housed many security and military personal who will be returning home within the coming weeks.
