The stability of a film adjacent to a compressible boundary layer was analyzed by using a model that accounts for the viscosity and the mean velocity profiles of the liquid and the gas, body forces, surface tension, compressibility and thermal conductivity of the gas, and nonlinear effects. The main achievement of the present study is an improved method for analyzing wave stability and obtaining quantitative predictions of the wave characteristics.en
