Abstract

According to the new report by the New York State Comptroller's office, New York City's restaurant industry and its employment has destroyed almost the half of pre-pandemic. The report's data said that most small businesses have suffered and endangered to close their business without government supports. Moreover, the report found that the Open Restaurant Program to issue special sidewalk and roadway permits to outdoor dining actually helped restaurant employment.
