As the leisure market continues to propel Pebblebrook into a steady recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, Pebblebrook CEO, Jon Bortz, noted that the REIT will continue to look into distressed properties to flip and add into their vast portfolio. Bortz is heavily aware that leisure travel is what will lead the recovery efforts around the hotel industry throughout 2021, but remains optimistic regarding the potential pickup of group travel beginning in early September. Pebblebrook has increased transient bookings week-over-week and is optimistic that trend will continue as the industry continues it's path towards recovery. Additionally, Pebblebrook pointed to the fact that guests' willingness to upgrade rooms across the board is equated to the increased savings many consumers have built up over the past year.en
