dc.description.abstract | The pandemic presented a host of challenges for hotels looking to survive. One of those challenges was how to limit housekeeping staff members’ potential exposure to Covid-19. The solution that many hotels found to be helpful was a reduced housekeeping service structure. Some offered full room cleanings upon request, while others only offered full cleanings at the end of the stay, with partial room cleanings upon request. Another option was room refreshments (i.e. - new towels or linens) upon request. As the industry prepares to transition out of the pandemic’s early restrictions, brands assess the new structure and whether they should keep it, as it has produced benefits for some, yet new challenges for others. | en |
