The use of international and national quality and competitive performance awards has long been recognized as an effective tool to measure outstanding industry performance of private and public organizations worldwide (Hendricks & Singhal, 2000). The importance of developing realistic evaluation models that fit the characteristics of an industry, region, or country, has also been a subject of research for practitioners and academicians for a long time.
