Workers in outdoor settings encounter numerous constraints, such as weather conditions, safety-related issues, Wi-Fi connectivity, and frequent mobility. These constraints significantly influence their work efficiency, job satisfaction, safety, and well-being. Despite the development of advanced artificial intelligence, there is still much room for improvement in utilizing such technology for workers in outdoor environments. The present study addresses this gap by conducting a systematic review to understand the state of the art regarding the functions, agent types, technologies, evaluation methods, and dependent variables associated with intelligent agents for outdoor workers. The goal of the present study is to provide research directions and guidelines for the development of intelligent agents by addressing research questions, which aim to meet the specific needs of outdoor workers, ultimately contributing to improved working conditions and enhanced safety.en
