    Following the collapse of the gymnasium at Blacksburg High School on February 20, 2010, Montgomery County Public Schools requested that Engineers from OWPR, Inc. conduct an assessment of the remaining Blacksburg High Shcool Building. A proposal from OWPR, Inc including a detailed scope of work was submitted to, and subsequently approved by, Montgomery County Public Schools... The results of [a subsequent] analysis may require additional remediation efforts, therefore, determination of a possible date of re-occupancy of the building cannot be made until after July 1, 2010.

    Blacksburg High School: FORCON Report

    Per your request, FORCON traveled to the Insured’s property located at 520 Patrick Henry Drive in Blacksburg, Virginia, to investigate the origin and cause of the roof collapse. We also investigated the structural integrity of the gymnasium floor and first floor supporting walls that remained under the collapsed roof structure. The date of our site visits were March 1, May 10, and May 19, 2010. The following report provides our general observations and final conclusions.
